The redesign is not at all impressive in person. It is a lot lighter and it runs quieter, but it was not exactly an impressive thing to see at E3. alt text

Oh, and I was nuts when I thought I saw a quick Red Ring of Death on one of the running units. A few people came up to me and asked me if I saw it too. Not the idle conditions for any electronics but it does put another "fuck you" in the line that they will no longer Red Ring.

It looks cool, and I think I'll get one sometime (I still don't own and current gen systems), but I'll wait a couple months, so I can see what the bugs are, because...I mean, let's be honest, this is Microsoft we're talking about here.

But hey, it's smaller, lighter, quieter, bigger hard drive, and new design, I won't be surprised to see people trade in the older 360's to get their hands on this guy. But, as Gooie said, it wasn't the biggest thing at E3. It wasn't as impressive as, oh say, the 3DS (which I think will kick some major ass).

And this thing being Kinect-ready might be a plus for some people, but I think Kinect isn't going to do too good. But hey, that's just a blind assumption on my part, it could actually be fun.

In the end, I think this was a good move, especially if they want to integrate Kinect so badly. And for $299, who wouldn't want a fresh, new 250GB Xbox 360? :3
