Fairytale Fights: Sneak Peak Action at NYAF

Otaku Pride is Interviewing and demo-ing the new Fairytale Fights game at New York Anime Festival on Saturday September 26.

Fairytale Fights is set to release on October 27. It will be available on the PS3, XBox 36 and PC platforms.

As you can see from the pictures below, it looks like a ton of fun, getting to pick your favorite fairytale character and then go to town destroying the fairytale world. (There's actually a little more to it than that)

About the game

A sick & twisted fighting game featuring many of your favorite fairy tale characters from childhood now acting like the crazy maniacs your deviant adult mind could only imagine them to be! Players choose one favorite fairytale character with whom they will try and save a fantasy world from certain doom. Luckily many different weapons lay around in this fairytale world, which players can use to shoot and carve up enemies… and this is where the fun begins! Cute fairytale characters will fight each other until nothing else remains than a big puddle of blood!

Foes are sliced and diced in real-time, thanks to Playlogic's in-house "Dynamic Slicing" technology. Instead of using preset animations, players have the ability to slice up an enemy in any way they like by using the analog stick. Apart from this "cutting" edge technology, the game will also use the tested powers of the Unreal 3 engine.

What are you guys thinking about the upcoming game?

Their website is a little bit disorienting but all in all it looks to be a pretty sweet game. There better be a playable demo at NYAF!!

Not a fan of the character design. Not gunna lie.

Also, Tom, you need to change the info: it is for PS3, Windows, and 360. It seems that you need to buy a retail disc for your computer, but maybe you can just download it from the PSN and XBL respectively. The details are kinda fuzzy.

So, there was indeed a playable copy at NYAF. My little highlight video includes a bit of demo play.

Very gory game, but a fan favorite.
