How do you find new anime/manga/games?

Hey, what are your favorite ways to find new anime, manga and games?

Also what is your favorite way of finding news regarding said topics? Stumble upon? digg? reddit? from friends? Podcasts?

I'm so curious!

Try not to laugh: 4chan. Yes, 4chan. I finally decided to watch K-on through all of the picture posting on the /c/ board. That's just for anime, though. Gameswise, I usually get suggestions from friends or by reading game magazines. Manga is just whatever I happen to come across on my travels in bookstores and online scanlation sites.

I have a little notebook that I keep next to my desk at all times, I have dedicated a few pages to just writing down the names of anime/manga/games that I hear of from people on DeviantART, manga magazines, blogs etc. When ever I want to start something new, I search up some names I remember from that list.

I know, it's a pretty random way to find new stuff. Works for me though XP

Games? Through TotalPlayStation.com and IGN.com, OF COURSE!

Also GameScoop!, Podcast BEYOND!, Three Red Lights, and Nintendo Voice Chat. These are all iTunes redirect links, btw.

I'm old-fashioned.

I tend to follow blogs and leave my discovery of anime and manga up to chance while searching for series I already follow. I also use Twitter to follow any fellow otaku I may come across as they are way more informed than I have time for.

I find my manga by going to a bookstore and scanning their selection. The same applies to games for me as well, though I do keep an eye on Kotaku for the latest gaming news.

I dont like a lot of /c/'s anime taste.

/b/'s anime taste is much better. Gurren Lagann.

Ahem Anyway, mostly I get it from friend recommendations. Or if I see something from it at a con and it looks interesting, I pick it up.

Currently airing anime I get through streaming sites (animeseason.com). However to browse for interesting older anime - and there are lots - just spend some time on TV tropes. That's dangerous though as that site is a blackhole for your time.

Hah. I forgot anime planet - also useful for managing watched anime. Yes, that is necessary.

well, so far all the anime that I've ever watched have been recommended to me by friends. So you know, go on youtube or some other site for watching anime and begin watching!!

You can always look top ten anime/manga on Google and a bunch of stuff will pop up. That's what I tend to do when looking for new manga to read.

For new video games you can always listen to an otaku pride podcast, cuz alot of the time they talk about an awesome video game you should play. That's how I found out about Fat Princess.

I either hear about new ones from my friends or I find them randomly on websites and then look em up if they catch my interest.

i usually hear from friends, but i sometimes stumble upon things i want. then in that case it's more of a decision right there. like my wristband and brook figurine were things i stumbled upon in stores.

Usually through recommendations people give me. "You should watch this, you should play that" so I try it out and see if I like it or not, haha. Sometimes I manage to find things on my own (Soul Eater, Brothers In Arms, Fruits Basket) and I end up loving most of it.

Oh, and the random anime/game news channels I subscribe to on YouTube. :3

Pretty much I'll browse Manga when I go to cons and if I see something that catches my eye I'll give the series a shot. I'll also talk to friends and visit boards for suggestions.
